This class had learners of mixed levels—one of whom was a beginner (the mom), the other of whom was much more advanced (the daughter)—so conversation involved a lot of funny misunderstandings and colorful attempts at communication. It was a very entertaining class, and I think we all learned something. Here's a review of most of the material we covered, with Korean translations where possible so that Mom can have a slightly better grasp of the vocabulary, grammar, and expressions. Many examples will be provided so the lesson material can be seen in context.

VOCABULARY
understand (v., 이해하다, 알아듣다)

GRAMMAR
Use very in front of an adjective, not in front of a noun. 'Very'는 형용사 앞에 사용하고 명사 앞에는 사용하지 않습니다.

Yes/No QUESTION GRAMMAR 예/아니오 질문 문법
Yes/No questions are formed with the verb first: Do you...? Will you...? Can you...? Should you..? Shouldn't you...? Are you...? Aren't you? Isn't he..." Doesn't she...? Won't they...? Wouldn't you...? Can I...? etc., etc.
예/아니오 질문은 동사를 먼저 써서 만듭니다. 예를 들어, Do you...? Will you...? Can you...? Should you...? Shouldn't you...? Are you...? Aren't you...? Isn't he...? Doesn't she...? Won't they...? Wouldn't you...? Can I...? 등등입니다.

Use "It's okay" for a situation. Use "I'm okay" when talking about yourself.
